Spring is finally here!

We have been having such nice weather for the past couple of days! Craig and Martin, our neighbor, ground out the tree stumps, then Ryan, his friend Thomas, and Craig filled in the holes and empty spots in the yard and flowerbeds in the backyard, we got the 4 x 4's for the fences along with some of the boards and concrete mix for the fence, Craig took out the front shrubs, knocked down the little brick walls in my flowerbeds, emptied the shed for the cement guy to come over and look at and give us an estimate, and is getting the yard ready for home improvements!!!
Tonight the girls had their piano recital, there are only 2 other students besides them and they each played one song, had a cookie, went and got ice cream and then to the park for a rousing game of tackle soccer and ultimate frisbee for family home evening.
Piano lessons: $80.00
Cookies & ice cream: $7.00
Trash-talking your kids while playing soccer and having the Young Women's president walk by: Priceless
Since we have no fence between us and Martin we are also the proud part-caretakers of Harley, Martin's 6 month old brown (red?) Labrador, who the children just LOVE!!! They have taught him to sit, not jump, shake and are working on fetch. Harley's not sure why the kids throw things and expect him to go and get them, he doesn't see the point in that at all! But he is fun!

April Showers bring May Flowers?!?!

At this rate my flowers aren't sure what to do - should they keep coming up or just give up?!?!
We are still having yucky weather - snow, rain, hail, thunder, lightening - and that was just one night! The robins have returned and they and the squirrels are making a meal out of my crab apple tree. Every time you open the front door, you hear this "whoosh" as they all fly away and the squirrels all take off running. I just want spring!!!

I don't know if this is related to the weather or not, but today at work as we were doing clean-up, namely the dishes, the power went out! So we had to take the remaining dishes and do them in 3-compartment sinks. The sinks are about 2 feet deep and hit you about waist-high, so you are just leaning over the entire time! Of course the power came back on about 45 minutes later - when we were just finishing up! I am glad tomorrow is Friday - I need a restful weekend just watching Conference - I don't think that is going to happen though - we have 2 soccer games and pictures that day too! Oh well, if I had nothing to do I'm sure I could complain about that too! (Of course I would like to give it a shot just to make sure!)
