Spring Flowers

Our hyacinths have finally started coming up

the left side of the house, all tulips

the right side, tulips and pinwheels

a cool cloud we saw on the way home from Utah, last night

I AM

I am a girl who loves to read
I wonder about my future
I hear beautiful piano music
I see an ivory moon above the quiet lake
I want my own library
I am a girl who loves to read

I imagine when I read, that I am in another world
I feel excited when I get a new book
I touch the smooth keys of a piano
I worry what other people think of me
I cry when I read "Where The Red Fern Grows"
I am a girl who loves to read

I understand English
I say "stand up for what you believe"
I dream about going to Europe
I try to do well in school
I hope to be an author
I am a girl who loves to read
